Mini update x Japantown

Been so busy and lacking on the blog updates, thankfully I've just got 4 more days left of my Summer semester!

I actually took more units than I was supposed too, so it's been a bit overkill balancing schoolwork and my job, as well any personal matters to attend too, especially updating my blog!

More than anything, I strive to offer new content, more blog entries on new and intriguing locations, and stay connected with all of you.

After the conclusion of Summer semester, I'm finally going to start my major-prep classes during the Fall semester! I am damn excited, cannot begin to explain how eager I am to begin. Unfortunately, I'm also going to take three other (boring, such a drag) useless classes.

the dreaded three classes: history, political science, as well anthropology. .
okay yes, i am judging a book by it's cover, although they really just don't sound appealing compared to major prep class. . mind you, it's a class specifically for my major, of course i'm going to side with it over those classes.

About two days ago, I went out to play tennis with my friend, somewhere along the conversation a spontaneous trip to San Francisco came up. . .

And . . .

I drove out to San Francisco around 5:30 PM, traffic had me completely speechless, reckless and impatient drivers that were not willing to make any room for anyone!

Although it took longer than usual because not a single person allowed me to safely make a lane change, we still reached our destination, the Japan Center.
There was a nice little bridge to other side of the street, although it honestly took much more time than just crossing the street. I would imagine many more people walk over this when there's a festival, during the day too because the streets would be packed.
Quick photo from the bridge over the street! We arrived fairly late in the evening,  I didn't mind entirely because the weather was fairly cold.
Took the elevator and it ended up taking us into West building, ran into a cosmetic store that I've always passed by and never noticed! Can't recall the name off the top of my head, although I'll definitely be back in the near future because the unique variety of products! Unfortunately, employees are damn persistent and asked me (as well another customer) if we were in need of help over five times! For heaven's sake, please let your customers breathe a little as they're roaming around the store.
I've never seen some of the products offered here before, quite in shock because the wide range of Japanese and Korean skin care products. Was roaming around for so long in the store,  honestly would of continued looking at the items if my friend and I weren't ready to eat already.
Cosmetic heaven, noticed so many products that I thought were only available through sellers from Korea.
DO MY EYES DECEIVE ME? ? ?
I've never once seen any Collagen supplements available in the U.S, honestly probably scared off the customer in front of me because the sudden hyperventilating reflex. lol.
As many of you may already know, Collagen supplements have been quite the rave in China, Japan and Korea!
note: Japan offers Collagen drinks available in most convenience stores! so lucky too, likely why they're all kirei x kawaii desu ~
I had actually purchased a collagen powder for the first time from Japan a week prior, so I decided to purchase the mini purple box seen in the photo.
Goodness gracious, there was such a wide variety of face masks for sale!
The pink little cube was actually a mask that I bought during my last trip with Rina!
It's the LuLuLun face mask that Rina recommended, however that's the super size package that offers 42 mask sheets.
Do, feel free to read my previous trip with Rina here
Another LuLuLun product! Cream Mask for deep moisturizing, found it interesting because the description states it's intended for use following a face mask. Is that perhaps a marketing technique? Haha.
Regardless, definitely wish there was a tester for the product available, would test out the consistency/quality of the product.
Hado Labo? Honestly, I've seen it at a Japanese supermarket near my area, although I've never seen such a large selection of their products. I have the Gokujyn line (Toner/Lotion/Essence) and the moisturizing effect is damn effective, first time seeing Hado Labo face masks in person too! Definitely will try them one day, would be quite nice to have in preparation of the winter time. I sometimes have dry skin, during winter, most people don't drink as much water because the weather is already cold. They assume that because the sun isn't out, the necessity to drink water isn't as vital because it's not as hot outside. Wrong! Our skin always needs to be hydrated, please stay hydrated by drinking water during every season, whether it may be hot or cold weather!
All the stores were closing, unfortunately we had decided to drive out a bit later than expected.
Been watching so much Dragon Ball Z on TV lately, I've always watched it growing up, but I can't recall having watched every single episode to date. Did you notice the chibi Levy (attack on titan) poster behind the figures?
AH, THE FACE SHOP!
Was so, so tempting to go in and look around!
My friend isn't too big on skin care, so I decided to pass it up because it would be quite insensitive having him wait for me to look around.
I'll be back sometime soon though! Please wait for me, LOL.
There wasn't any event going on in Japantown this time around, however, I noticed quite a bit of cosplayers that were meeting up with one another.
It was getting a bit chilly in J-town, of course it was perfect weather for me to wear a jacket.
Went to visit Mitsu Teahouse! I've been a long supporter of this shop, it's the famous Cotton Candy x Milk Tea as seen on my previous blog entry!
Click here, if you would like to see my first visit at Mitsu Teahouse!
Left Japantown and made our way to San Mateo for a cafe that's open past midnight! The streets are filled with lights, very nice spot to catch up with friends.
Menu has such a wide range of dessert variety! I couldn't help but feel indecisive, I just want everything from the menu okay. lol.
Had to go with the Matcha x Condensed Milk French Toast!
This was absolutely delicious, I seriously cannot stop thinking about it, definitely worth the 20 minute wait period.

My friend and I made our way back to the car, all was fine. .
until he mentioned there was a mass of broken glass beside my car. .

And there it was before me, someone smashed my window and stole my backpack that I had under the passenger seat!
Ah yes, you must be wondering, what did they steal?

Let me start off by saying. .

Was this really necessary? To think someone would even commit an act of robbery. . And fail? LOL.

I'm sure you were expecting something valuable in the backpack you stole, unfortunately there wasn't thousands of dollars or any wallets. . Good attempt?

In fact, the backpack that was stolen was literally $6. .
That being said it was a damn nice backpack, as well my beloved Instax mini 8 (White) Polaroid was in there, half a bottle of Chia seed toner, and my collagen mix purchase from earlier.

I called the police and filed a police report, officer was nice enough to give me his e-mail and contact information, hopefully the camera's around the building can catch the thief.

I was extremely disappointed in the fact that someone would do this, honestly it's just very disheartening. I wasn't so much irritated as I was grateful, I repeatedly told my friend that I was content with his safety, along with mine too, of course.

I love my car, despite it being a fairly older model, it's definitely been there for me and I treat it with an absolute amount of love. Okay, I admit sometimes that I even speak to my car, LOL.

Although I'm not shy of sharing this, I truly felt ashamed to have allowed this to happen to my car, kept apologizing and soothing (rubbing the dashboard of my car) as the police were on the way.

It was such a drag, we had to drive back over 80 miles with a window missing, trust me. . Our ears felt completely violated, like never before.

Ah yes, of course. . There's the cost of the missing camera, as well having to buy a new toner, replacing/installing the new window too.

Cleaning up all of the glass was tiring too, spent quite some time and have gone three days without my car. . Very inconvenient, although I'm not really mad about what happened. It's definitely served as a learning experience, from this point on will never leave a backpack in my car.

until next time,

Taodiego
